213 applicants advancing to the Screening Auditions

The Preliminary Selection for the Third Sendai International Music Competition was conducted by way of documents and CD or other recording medium. As a result, 213 applicants (100 for the Violin Section and 113 for the Piano Section) passed the Preliminary Selection.

The applicants who passed the Preliminay Selection will participate in the Screening Auditions, which will be held in six cities around the world (Vienna, Paris, Moscow, Shanghai, Sendai, New York) beginningNovember 30, 2006, to determine contestants for the competition.
