SIMC is admitted to the World Federation of International Music Competition
2005/05/18
Since its foundation in 2001, the Sendai International Music Competition has been working hard to make its management meet the standards set by the World Federation of International Music Competitions, with the aim of becoming a member of the federation.
As the 2nd competition ended in great success in June 2004, the SIMC fulfilled a requirement, which regulates the number of competitions that should be held to apply for the membership.
The SIMC applied for membership in September 2004, and its admission was granted at the general assembly of the federation held in Bordeaux, France, on May 13th. The SIMC joined other renowned international music competitions both in name and reality.
While using a network of the federation effectively, the SIMC further contributes the promotion of music and international cultural exchange which is a major commitment of the SIMC.
