Alena BAEVA
The 3rd Sendai International Music Competition
Violin section 1st prize winner
Born in 1985, Alena started to learn violin in Alma-Ata(Kazakhstan) when she was 5.In 1995, she moved to Moscow, where she studied at the Central Music School of the Moscow Tchikovsky Conservatory.She was a student of such musicians as Prof. Eduard GRACH, Violinist Shlomo MINTZ, and Maestro M. ROSTROPOVICH.
The orchestras she has played with include Academy of St.Martin in the Fields, Polish Radio Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, and others. Her partners include such conductors as Sir Neville MARRINER, Paavo BERGLUND, Jerzy MAKSYMYUK, Vladimir FEDOSSEYEV, Vladimir SPIVAKOV, and also the musicians including Yuri BASHMET, Julian RACHLIN, Dmitry SITKOVETSKY, Itamar GOLAN, Shlomo MINTZ and Alexander KNIAZEV.
She won the first prize and the audience prize at Sendai International Music Competition (2007), the Grand-prix at the Moscow International Paganini Competition (2004), and the first prize as well as 9 special prizes including the prize for the best performance of the contemporary composition at International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition(2001).
Her CD of Shostakovich and Bruch’s First violin concerto with Russian National Orchestra and Paavo BERGLUND was released in 2006. And another of her CD with two violin concertos by Karol Szymanowski was released from DUX label of Polandin 2007.

The 3rd Sendai International Music Competition
Piano section 1st prize winner
Born in Sendai, Japan in 1982.He won first prize and the Education Minister’s Encouragement Prize at the All Tohoku Piano Competition (1998). He entered Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2001, and won 3rd prize at The Music Competition of Japan in the same year.He was given a lesson by Vladimir ASHKENAZY at the 7th Miyazaki International Music Festival(2002) and won the audience prize at the 2nd Sendai International Music Competition(2004).Graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with top honors in 2005, he received the Ataka Award, the Acanthus Award, and Doseikai Award. TSUDA then proceeded to pursue his master’s degree program at the graduate school of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.He won 1st prize, the audience prize and the French Ambassador to Japan Prize at the Sendai International Music Competition (2007). Currently he is continuing his strenuous efforts in studying piano under Prof. Pascal DEVOYON at BerlinUniversity of the Arts.
Tsuda organized his own piano trio called "Accord" together with violinist SHIRAI Kei and cellist KADOWAKI Hiroki in his junior year at the university, and was active in performing in Tokyo, Sapporo and other places across Japan.
The orchestras he has performed with include Deutsches Kammerorchester, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Geidai Philharmonia.
His piano teachers include Pascal DEVOYON, Gabriel TACCHINO, GOLDBERG YAMANE Miyoko, KAKUNO Yu, and SHIBUYA Ruriko.He studied chamber music under GOLDBERG YAMANE Miyoko, TANAKA Chikashi, KONO Fumiaki, and YAMAZAKI Nobuko.
