Biography
TAN Xiaotang
1st Place, Piano Section
TAN Xiaotang, born in Beijing, is studying Master Class in Munich Conservatory of Music under Professor Gerhard Oppitz.
In June of 2004, he won first place in the piano section at the 2nd Sendai International Music Competition, and been awarded with the French ambassador to Japan prize and the Audience Awards. In this competition, he is highly appraised for his outstanding techniques and his magnificent expressive performances by critics and audiences alike. In December of 2005, he won first place in 9th Grand Prix Animato Rencontre Internationale Des Jeunes Pianistes, Paris, France, and impressed audience with his excellent talent once again.
As one of the most well known young pianist, TAN had been performing recitals and concertos in France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Poland, Portugal and Morocco and China. TAN has performed concertos with various orchestras, includes China National Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of China National Opera, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra.
