SHENG, Zhongguo is one of the influential violinists in China. He studied the violin with his father from his childhood. In 1960, he was sent by the state to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music in Moscow; from 1960 -1963 he followed the world renowned violinist Leonid Kogan in the campus.

In 1964, he returned to China and became a soloist of the ex-Central Philharmonic Society and the Symphony Orchestra of China. He is fully scheduled and gives about a hundred concerts and recitals annually both abroad and at home.

His appearances have been shot into films and TV documents and his performances have been recorded into CDs and DVDs. He is regarded as a star-like classical musician by the CCTV.

He has been invited as a jury in those international violin competitions in Japan in 1986, in USA in 1994 and 2004 and in China in 2008. He is now the Chairman of the China Violin Society and the professor of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
